Volunteer Positions Available

Greeter in the Florence Maxwell Low Vision Clinic
Greeters provide a warm, welcoming voice to clinic clients and guide them from the reception area to the exam room and then to the occupational therapist office. Often a visit to the Visibility Store rounds out a clinic appointment. Appointments run from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm, three to four days per week. CVI will provide training in acting as a human guide and HIPAA regulations.

VisAbility Store
The VisAbility Store has an array of products to suit clients’ needs and is open the same hours as the clinic. Volunteers will assist the store manager with merchandising, ordering, and inventory along with greeting customers. Volunteers are most needed in the morning to mid-afternoon. Volunteers may combine this activity with serving as a Greeter.

Youth Services Saturday Activities
CVI hosts a range of enrichment activities for school-age kids the 2nd Saturday of the month from 10 a.m. to Noon. Volunteers assist CVI program manager and staff with activities such as Goalball, exploring MARTA, games days and more.

Client Surveys
To deliver high quality care to our clients, CVI gathers feedback through phone surveys from clients who visited our clinic or participated in adult rehabilitation. Volunteers receive a call list, survey questions and a portal for submitting responses. This opportunity may be completed from home or in the CVI office.

Night Visions Auction Committee
CVI’s annual fundraising event, Night Visions, will be held March 23, 2023, at the Atlanta History Center. Auction committee volunteers help staff secure high-quality experiences and/or merchandise to be included in the auction. This opportunity encourages volunteers to bring their creativity and expertise to the process of designing a fabulous event in support of CVI’s mission.

Please email aparkes@cviga.org with any questions regarding these volunteer opportunities and thank you for your interest in supporting CVI’s mission through volunteerism.
