Make a difference!
Every year, the Center for the Visually Impaired (CVI) makes a difference in the lives of over 4,000 individuals who are visually impaired or blind and their family members.
None of this would be possible without the help of individuals like you.
Your contribution to CVI will help to empower our clients to meet the challenges of vision loss to reach their personal goals and lead fulfilling lives.
Your gift could introduce a toddler to braille, counsel her family and prepare her for kindergarten. Your gift could give teens the wisdom of a mentor, a place where they belong, and the knowledge that their dreams can come true. Your gift could empower an adult to find a job, take care of his family and use a computer without sight.
No gift is too small to make a difference in the life of someone who is visually impaired.
Below are just a few of the ways that you can make an impact:
Share the vision of CVI founders George and Jean Henderson. Membership in the Henderson Society is extended to those who contribute $1,500 or more during the fiscal year (July 1 – June 30).
Each Spring, CVI hosts a fundraising event called Night Visions. Night Visions is truly a party with a purpose featuring cocktails, great food and a silent and live auction to support CVI’s mission. You can also help by hosting your own event or volunteering at an event. Your company can also support CVI through sponsorships or organizing a corporate volunteer group.
Make CVI part of your legacy. Legacy gifts help CVI serve future generations. Tailored to the needs of you and your heirs, these planned gifts also can provide you with income tax savings and in some cases, annual income.
Are you a member of a professional, social or service group? Is your group looking for a charity to support? Consider hosting your charity event to benefit the Center for the Visually Impaired! No event is too big or too small, and your support will have an enormous impact the clients and families we serve at CVI.
CVI’s programs are always in need of supplies for the services we provide every day. This includes both vision-specific items, like magnifiers and sunglasses, but also everyday items. For example, we can always use paper products for client gatherings, art supplies for children’s activities, and cookware (pots, pans, oven mitts, etc.) for cooking classes. Please visit the following link for a complete list of items that are needed on an on-going basis. Thank you for keeping us in mind as you sort through your holiday gifts and start packing away your holiday party supplies!
